It is decorated to the body with two circular panels enclosing two birds perched on a rock beside a peony, and a pair of mandarin ducks swimming in a lotus pond, all reserved on a goldstone ground splashed with gilt. The base has an apocryphal Qianlong iron red six-character mark.
