A PAIR OF BROWN GILT-LACQUERED CABINETS
19TH CENTURY
Each cabinet has an open shelf to the top followed by a set of double-doors revealing a cupboard, and two drawers directly underneath, and stands on four scroll feet. The cabinet is decorated with scholars and pavilions in a mountainous river landscape with gilt and red lacquer highlights. The cupboard interiors are decorated with gilt flower sprays. The area below the drawers is decorated with cartouches enclosing mythical beasts. The cabinet is fitted with floral cloisonné enamel hinges.
