(Occasional light browning and soiling, a few leaves trimmed close by the binder, some into final lines.) 18th-century tree calf, spine gilt (extremities rubbed, small snagged area to upper cover, joints cracking). Provenance: Charles William Vane, 3rd marquess of Londonderry (1778-1854, army officer and diplomatist; engraved bookplate).
