Original brown hardback publisher's cloth lettered in gilt, printed yellow endpapers (Dent to spine and front cover, small light stain to front cover, corners a little frayed).
GOOD HARDBACK COPY of the forty-seventh edition. In his judgement of the previous season's tour, Pardon has special praise for the Australian fielding: 'never, I think, in a series of Test matches in England has the fielding of any eleven been so consistently fine'. The photographic plate includes Bardsley and Ranford, 'the heroes' of the 1909 tour, and at the centre Sydney Barnes who travelled to Australia in 1911-12 and took five wickets for six runs before lunch at Melbourne.
