A glazed memorial locket
Containing a lock of hair with handwritten note attached: Hair of the Duke of Wellington given by Him to Lady Fitz. Somerset 1837; together with a BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, 1679, inside page inscribed: 'Lord FitzRoy Somerset, Charlotte E. Somerset March 6th 1840, given to her by her dear Father' (cover detached); an envelope containing three locks of hair, envelope inscribed 'Lord FitzRoy Somerset, great grandfathers hair when he was a lad'; four further envelopes containing locks of Lord Raglan's hair; and an envelope containing dried flowers, inscribed 'Heather from the Crimea given to me by the Duc de Malakoff on Tuesday July the 6th 1858'
