Two miniatures: William Lygon, 2nd Earl Beauchamp (1782-1823), in fur-bordered blue cloak, white waistcoat and black stock, wearing a gold chain, standing in an interior; together with a countess, seated on green chair, in black dress and gold shawl, wearing pearl, a black hat and a blue shawl and a book on her lap; curtain and building in background
on ivory
rectangular, 9.1/8 x 6.3/8 in. (234 x 162 mm.) and 7½ x 5½ in. (190 x 140 mm.); ormolu frames, the former by Alphonse Giroux, surmounted by an earl's coronet, the latter with a countess's coronet and monogram CB

William Lygon, 2nd Earl Beauchamp, was a British politician. He was the son of William Lygon, 1st Earl Beauchamp and Catherine Denn. He died, in 1823, unmarried.
