Alexandra Feodorovna (1798-1860), Empress of Russia, née Princess Charlotte of Prussia, in silver off-the-shoulder dress embellished with pearls and rubies, wearing a pearl necklace with diamond and ruby-set clasp, corresponding earrings, kokoshnik adorned with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pearls from which flows a white gauze veil; curtain background
on ivory
oval, 1.3/8 in. (36 mm.) high, in gilt-metal bracelet clasp with paste surround
Provenance
Probably given by Alexandra Feodorovna, Empress of Russia, to Frances Anne, Marchioness of Londonderry (1800-65) when visiting the court of St. Petersburg in 1836-37, and by descent.
