A VICTORIAN SILVER PUNCH BOWL
MARK OF WALTER, JOHN, MICHAEL AND STANLEY BARNARD AND ROBERT DUBOCK, LONDON, 1899
Bombé shaped and on spreading circular foot, the body chased with scrolls and flowers, with everted notched shaped rim, applied with winged demi-caryatid handles, each side centred by a cartouche engraved with differing coat-of-arms, the interior gilt, marked near handle

132 oz. 16 dwt. (4,129 gr.)
The arms are those of Tempest quartering Stewart, both quartering Vane for Charles Vane Tempest Stewart (1878-1949), later 7th Marquess of Londonderry.
The second arms are those of Chaplin for the Hon. Edith Chaplin (d. 1959), daughter of the 1st Viscount Chaplin, wife of Charles Vane Tempest Stewart (1878-1949), later 7th Marquess of Londonderry. They married in 1895.
