A VICTORIAN SILVER PRESENTATION SPADE
MARK OF A&B, BIRMINGHAM, 1899
The blade engraved with presentation inscription below a cypher and coronet, the oak shaft with collar dated '1899' and the handle applied with pierced foliage emblematic of Britain, marked on blade and on handle
31 ¼ in. (79.4 cm.) long
The initials are for Theresa, Marchioness of Londonderry (d.1919) wife of Charles, 6th Marquess of Londonderry (1852-1915).

The inscription reads, 'Theresa Pit. Dawdon Colliery / August 26th 1899.'
