A GROUP OF 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY OBJECTS COMPRISING:
A Sicilian gilt-brass and coral oval ink-pot, with coral finial: 3? in. (8 cm.) wide
A brass pen knife strop, with a scallop shell handle, the case with foliate decoration, the initials ‘F.A.L’ (presumably for Frances Anne Vane, Marchioness of Londonderry, 1800-1865) and the date ‘Jany 17 1832’: 8 in. (20.3 cm.) long
A antler cigar cutter, mounted with silver oak leaves and acorns, terminating in an open-mouthed boar’s head with red glass eyes: 6¾ in. (17.3 cm.) long
A silver mounted tortoiseshell pill box, with silver coronet and cypher with initials ‘EC’ on lid, 1899 (hallmarked): 2¾ in. (7 cm.) wide
A blue grey agate seal, the agate matrix carved with the Vane-Tempest-Stewart coat-of-arms, gold mount with the family motto, with marquess' coronet above probably for Charles, 7th Marquess of Londonderry (1878-1949): 3½ in. (8.3 cm) high
A double-ended glass desk seal, one end carved with a coronet and double ‘L’ cypher, the other carved with, ‘AMUSEZ VOUS MAIS E M’OUBLIEZ PAS’, a gold snake curled around the middle, with a garnet in its head, and paste eyes: 2? in. (6 cm.) high
A cylindrical engine-turned silver-gilt pill box, the lid with engraved with a coronet and cypher with the initial ‘F’, the base engraved ‘Souvenir d’un ami’, 1812 (hallmarked): 3 in. (7.5 cm.) high
