A SUPERB COLLECTION OF FINEST WINES FROM A KNOWLEDGEABLE EUROPEAN COLLECTOR
In recent years there has been a palpable movement away from wines that are considered over-manufactured and in any way inauthentic. This re-adjustment of tastes has been seen at every level: from simple, everyday drinking wines to the greatest wines of the world. Some drinkers and collectors have taken their stance to the most extreme conclusion, by eschewing ‘classic’ wines in their entirety and delving into the murky realm of natural wines.
With these observations in mind, it is a joy to introduce a collection that offers a clear vision of what purity can mean in wine when handled with precision and a cerebral mind. The collection focuses primarily on Burgundy, and has been assembled by a passionate connoisseur with very strong relationships with superb domaines, including: Fourrier, Fontaine-Gagnard, Georges Roumier and Méo-Camuzet. Many of the domaines included in the sale subscribe to the ideology of biodynamic winemaking, and several are fully organic. The wines range from characterful village wines through to some of the rarest Grand Cru vineyards, with a huge spectrum of styles in between. We celebrate these wines as vivid, powerful representations of the soils and landscape of Burgundy and beyond.
