Comprising:- a Chinese blue and white stem cup, probably 17th century, adapted at a later date with Islamic mounts for use as an incense burner; a pair of pierced German silver-gilt salts, circa 1900; a French silver niello snuff box depicting the Last Supper, circa 1860; five various vesta cases; an 18th century Dutch spoon with galleon finial, by Y. Posthumus, Leeuwarden, circa 1760; a Russian vodka cup, Moscow, 1882; three small icons, 20th century; three Russian vodka cups, Moscow, 1875/1890; a modern Italian container in the form of a sack, and another smaller, both by Buccellati, Milan, 20th century; a large German serving spoon, mark of Pott, 20th century; a very large pair of Italian spot-hammered silver salad servers, Florence, 20th century; four coin-set ashtrays (two Iranian); a Russian butter knife, St. Petersburg, 1908/17; a plated apostle spoon; a small vanity mirror; a Russian sifter spoon, Moscow, 1852; a Dutch toy watering can; an Edwardian silver medicine spoon, the curved handle enamelled with badge of the Red Cross, by Levi and Salaman, Birmingham, 1902; two Continental trinket boxes (one Italian, one German); and a quantity of other small silver and plated items
Special notice
These lots have been imported from outside the EU for sale using a Temporary Import regime. Import VAT is payable (at 20%) on the Hammer price. VAT is also payable (at 20%) on the buyer’s Premium on a VAT inclusive basis. Where applicable Customs duty will be charged (per rate specified by HMRC guidance) on the Hammer price and VAT will be payable at 20% on duty. When a buyer of such a lot has registered an EU address but wishes to export the lot or complete the import into another EU country, he must advise Christie's immediately after the auction.
