Woodcut device on title, woodcut initials and diagrams. (Ownership inscription excised from title, faint waterstaining at end.) Contemporary North Italian [? Bologna] brown morocco over pasteboard, a wide decorative blindstamped border, gilt arms with initials MC and 8 gilt fleurons on sides added later, probably in Germany (arms expunged from lower cover, some scuff marks, rubbed, head and foot of spine chipped, lacks yellow silk ties). Provenance: 'MC' (binding).
