Bologna] brown morocco over pasteboard, a wide decorative blindstamped border, gilt arms with initials MC and 8 gilt fleurons on sides added later, probably in Germany (arms expunged from lower cover, some scuff marks, rubbed, head and foot of spine chipped, lacks yellow silk ties). Provenance: 'MC' (binding).

An early separate edition of the Dialectica by Boethius, the chief minister of Theodoric, the Ostrogothic King of Italy, but garotted by him after a dubious trial, and regretted by the king ever after. This edition not in Adams.
