IN CONTEMPORARY RED MOROCCO BY DEROME. The Egyptologist and Orientalist Savary had published his translation of the Koran into French the previous year. In this Morale, he distils the Koran to its philosophical core, presenting 'only those Thoughts that elevate the spirit, and that remind man of his duty to God, to himself, and to others' (introduction).
