A 'Megarian' pottery hemispherical bowl
the dark brown body with moulded foliate and floral decoration and a festive scene around the central band, the male, female and winged figures dancing, playing Pan-pipes, and brandishing thrysi, a calyx of leaf-fronds radiating from central rosette on the base -- 3½in. (8.9cm.) high, 4½in. (11.5cm.) diam.; and two other Hellenistic bowls, one with black fired surface, decorated with a diamond motif pattern emanating from a central head of a sun-god on the base, damaged and repaired -- 4 7/8in. (12.5cm.) diam, 2½in. (6.4cm.) high max., all 2nd-1st Century B.C.
