Probably from a Nayika, opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the young heroine or Nayika receives the attention of other ladies in the zenana as a nobleman looks on from a window, set inside a palace compound with a large candle-lit terrace, with polychrome floral vine border and wide ochre margins with scrolling gold floral decoration containing birds
Painting 10½ x 7 3/8in. (26.3 x 18.6cm.); folio 14¾ x 10¾in. (37.4 x 27.3cm.)
