Il est représenté assis, ses mains jointes tiennent une tablette hu. Il est vêtu d'une longue robe plissée, d'un manteau et porte des chaussures. Le pan d'une ceinture élaborée retombe entre ses cuisses. Son visage sévère est souligné par une longue barbe et des favoris. Son front plissé est ceint d'une coiffe cylindrique maintenue par une épingle.

Lot Essay

According to James Spencer, Buddhist Images in Gilt Metal, Taipei, 1993, p. 174, Tianguan was one of the Three High Officials in the Daoist pantheon. His role is to give people their allotted share of luck and happiness.
