A VERY RARE FAMILLE ROSE OPENWORK COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The domed cover is surmounted by a bud finial in iron red and painted with a gilt shou character. It is variously decorated with a band of lotus petals around the finial; an iron-red band painted with interspersing fu and shou characters; a band of lime green openwork lattice fringed by pendent leaves and ruyi heads; and a band of composite Rococo style scrolls on yellow ground around the rim. The underside is enamelled in pale turquoise.
