QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
One panel portrays a scene of flowering lotus detailed with an egret wading in water under the shade of a large lotus leaf and detailed with a pair of kingfisher birds, one in flight and the other perched on a waterweed, all against a painted silk ground. The other panel has chrysanthemum blooms growing beside begonia; it is detailed with a finch perched on a tree branch observing three butterflies in flight.
