With four cannon and two anchors dependent, on simulated waves, the large rectangular base chased with medallions emblematic of commerce and industry and stylised foliate panels, raised on dolphin feet, inscribed Hansabund and Direktorium und Geschäftsführung des Hansabundes für handel.gewerbe und industrie 17.November 1913. Dem verehrten Präsidenten des Hansabundes Herrn. Geheimrat Riesser zu seinem 60.Geburtstage , mounted on a large ebonised wood plinth

The Hansabund or Hanseatic League for Trade, Commerce & Industry was founded in Berlin in June, 1909. It served as an economic advocacy for German merchants and industrialists and was opposed to the protection of agriculture by high customs tariffs as it was harmful to foreign trade
