Lot Essay
In 1875, the Viellard & Cie. manufactory began making wares which they referred to as ‘enamels’, which incorporated slightly raised decoration, often in the cloisonné style. The process was developed by Amadeus of Caranza from Longwy, and was generally either Moorish or Japanese in design, of which the present lot would appear to be an example.
