Lot Essay

Charles Henry Clifford Baldwyn (1859-1943) was employed at the Royal Worcester factory from 1874 through the first decade of the 20th century. His specialty was painting birds, particularly swans, and he exhibited his watercolors at the Royal Academy. See H. Sandon, Royal Worcester, London, 1978, p. 82 for a further discussion.
