gouache heightened with gold on paper in low relief, in Mughal style, the crowded boat with three stories full of animals and birds, sails across the ocean, infested with fantastical creatures, while the sailors go about their chores and rescue a man falling overboard, russet and gold meandering vine border within gold and white margins, orange leaf, India, by R. Lot Essay

This is an almost exact copy of a painting ascribed to Mishkin, circa 1590, in the Freer Gallery of Art, Washington.

Another painting by the same artist was sold at Christie's King Street, 19 October 1993, lot 1 and the two following lots are also by him.
