Lot Essay

Les Metoko, ainsi que leurs voisins Lengola, sculptent des poteaux comparables qui sont ensuite disposés autour des cases d'initiation (in Utotombo, 1988). Celui de la collection Blum se distingue par les visages en coeur sculptés de part et d'autre du chapiteau ainsi que par sa belle polychromie soulignant le rythme imposé par les formes géométriques superposées figurant un corps humain particulièrement stylisé.
