Lot Essay

Reference 2508 was introduced to the market in the mid-1930's as the company's first chronograph wristwatch with two registers and two buttons. The first generation featured oval chronograph buttons, while later generations, such as the present example, featured rectangular buttons.

Different versions of the reference 2508 are described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pages 80-91.
