The present watch is a fine example of Piaget's exceptional 1970's watch designs. Such designs were intended for their fashionable female clientele, and were characterized by their use of interesting stones and large bracelets to produce a creative and interesting piece. In particular, Piaget often used bright colored stones such as lapis lazuli, coral, tiger's eye, and onyx. In the late 1950's, Piaget committed to working only with precious metals, which led to bracelet designs that featured different textures and elaborate shapes. Piaget became known as "the jeweller of watch making". The present watch features both bright-colored stones and textured bracelet links, giving it a retro yet timeless chic look.
