4o (220 x 142 mm). Printed on japon paper, hand-colored title-page with a watercolor vignette, 31 plates, a few in color, a large variety of decorative borders, one on each page, a few hand-colored.
20th-century red morocco, covers with central gilt panel with green morocco onlaid flowers, spine in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, gilt-lettered in one, the rest gilt-stamped, turn-ins gilt, blue watered silk doublures and endpapers, edges gilt; original wrappers bound in; slipcase. Provenance: N.J.D. (bookplate bound in); acquired from Goodspeed's Book Shop, 1981.
FIRST EDITION, LIMITED ISSUE, number 115 of 160 copies for Henri Péne du Bois, a bibliophile and friend of Octave Uzanne; both were membors of the Bibliophiles Contemporains, for whom this work was published.
