the first a case with vesta compartment at top, silver thumbpiece with tiger's eye inset, maker's mark 'J.A', marked on base, cover and to vesticase cover; the second gold thumbpiece with cabochon saphire, inscription and dedication in Russian on interior, maker's mark possibly Cyrillic 'I.I', 1899-1903, marked on base and cover
