With hinged panelled top, the sides carved with stylized foliage and the initials MC
30 in. (76.2 cm.) high, 58 in. (147.3 cm.) wide, 23 in. (58.5 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

There is an apocryphal printed paper label to the interior of the chest which suggests it was once the property of Mary Cromwell, a relative of Oliver Cromwell.
