The Clash were the first established punk band to play in Ireland, and this the first concert. A gig scheduled at the Ulster Hall in Belfast the night before was cancelled at the last minute, reportedly due to the Insurers pulling out. The cancellation sparked a riot and according to Dr Mark Johnson, "acted as a catalyst for the formation of a punk esprit de corps" in Belfast.

The vendor acquired the poster from a Trinity College noticeboard in 1977.
