signed 'A. Rodin' (on the top of the base); inscribed '© by musée Rodin 1959' (on the left of the base); stamped with the foundry mark 'Georges Rudier Fondeur, Paris' (on the back of the base)
bronze with brown-green patina
Height: 8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.)
Conceived in 1882; this cast circa 1959-1960 from an edition of ten examples by Georges Rudier. Four earlier examples were cast between 1927 and 1935 by Alexis Rudier.

Galerie Gerald Cramer, Geneva, by whom acquired from the above in July 1960.
