Folio: 164 x 105mm. Text panel: 100 x 55mm. Arabic manuscript on paper, 290 leaves plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 15 lines of neat black naskh, text panels outlined in gold, black and red, catchwords, gold roundel verse markers, gold and polychrome marginal juz’ medallions, sura headings in white naskh within gold and polychrome illuminated panels, opening bifolio with gold and polychrome illumination surrounding 7 lines of text in clouds reserved against gold ground, colophon signed and dated (one folio loose, areas of worm holing to margins). Contemporary morocco with flap decorated with gold stamped medallions, silver-sprinkled paper doublures, in red morocco slip case, accompanied by a short description dated August 1878.
