4° (198 x 142mm). Large woodcut device on title and full-page portrait on verso, 38 woodcut emblems and woodcut initials. (C3 shorter at upper margin and following leaves creased at same point, light stains to some leaves.) Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine, remnants of ties (lightly stained). Provenance: Leonis S. Olschki (booklabel).
FIRST EDITION. VERY RARE ON THE MARKET: no copies recorded on ABPC/AE online. Not in Landwehr or Praz who records only another work by the author, Zopgraphia sive Hieroglyphica, printed in 1566.
