(Frontispiece margins expertly extended, some small marginal repairs, scattered spotting.) Full red morocco by Bedford, sides panelled in gilt, spine tooled in compartments and lettered directly in gilt, gilt turn-ins and edges. Provenance: S.A. Thompson Yates (bookplate).
FIRST EDITION, finely bound by Bedford. The second issue, with the final two sectional titles cancelled and replaced with those bearing Herringman's imprint. Pforzheimer 571; Wing K-450.
