12° (138 x 76mm). Engraved frontispiece by William Marshall. (Blue ink staining to fore-edges of title and early leaves, B1 torn with significant loss to 6 lines of text on verso, staining to M3.) Mid 19th-century black morocco (worn). Provenance: A.H. Bright (bookplate). Sixth edition in English, the first appearing in 1551. Dibdin called it 'one of the most careless and erroneous extant', but it was the edition used as the basis for his reprint. The frontispiece was first used in More's Epigrammata 1638. Pforzheimer 741; STC 18098.
