Lot Essay

Pietrina Checcacci was born in Taranto, Italy and moved to Brazil in 1954, settling in Rio de Janeiro. She studied at the National School of Fine Arts from 1958 to 1964 and has won numerous awards, including second prize at the Salon Candido Portinari, Brazil.
