AFTER ALBERT TOFT, EDITION OF 1/9, CAST BY THE ART BRONZE FOUNDRY, CIRCA 1920'S

Two other versions of this bronze are recorded. One was offered in Christie's London June 16th 1994 lot 358 which was considered to be an earlier cast of the model of the same title exhibited by Toft at the Royal Academy in 1903 (No. 1878). The other recorded cast of the group was purchased from the sculptor in 1905 by the Harris Museum, Preston, where it remains today. The Art Bronze Foundry London was founded in 1922 by Charles Gaskin.
