of baluster form, on a spreading foot and with a shell-fluted leaf-capped rising curved spout, ivory double scroll handle and domed hinged cover with spiral-twist finial, the body later-chased with fluting, flowers and foliage and engraved with an armorial within a C-scroll cartouche, the cover with conforming decoration, maker's initials probably F.P. with a star in between, London 1743 - 8in. (20.25cm.), 16.25oz. gross.
