Tasting note: A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, this is a massive effort, but it is the first Clos de Sarpe that can be drunk young with some degree of pleasure. It exhibits an opaque purple color, but the tannins are sweet, and not overwhelming, and the wine has low acidity as well as oodles of blackberry and sweet kirsch-like fruit intermixed with hints of minerality and spicy oak.
