Lot Essay

The style of the turban with the ornament at the back and the attendant holding the flywhisk confirm this figure is a member of the Singh royal family. His facial features and especially the shape of his beard further identify him as Rao Umed Singh. For a comparable portrait of the king with his sons, see M.C.
