Lot Essay

Chen Huan, a Ming dynasty artist, was born in Suzhou. Specializing in painting landscapes, especially in the style of Shen Zhou (1427-1509), also from Suzhou, Chen Huan privately studied under the master painter Hou Maogong (c. 1522-1620).
