The bowl is molded on the interior with fish swimming amidst waves above a sea creature in the center, with radiating lines cut on the exterior, all under a pale greyish-green glaze.

A pair of Yaozhou molded bowls with this design is in the Percival David Foundation, illustrated by M. Medley in the Illustrated Catalogue of Celadon Wares, 1977, pl. III, 20a and 20b.
