Christie's is honored to offer a selection of Chinese ceramics from the Estate of Alfred E. Guntermann (1943-2013). Mr. Guntermann was an enthusiastic and passionate New England collector, with a particular interest in porcelain of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Included here is an interesting and varied group of different types of wares, from unusual Longquan celadon wares from the Southern Song dynasty, rare blue and white wares from the Ming dynasty, exuberantly painted blue and white and famille verte porcelains from the Kangxi period, and finely painted mark-and-period porcelains of the Qing dynasty.
