DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The interior is decorated with a stylized shou character formed by foliate scroll below six smaller shou characters, and the exterior with a band of conjoined ruyi heads. Together with a larger blue and white shallow dish, Kangxi six-character mark in underglaze-blue within a double-circle and of the period (1662-1722), which is painted on the interior with a band of Sanskrit characters. The exterior is decorated with a narrow border of petals above the foot.
6 1/8 and 8¾ in. (15.5 and 22.2 cm.) diam.
