A similarly decorated vase of Kangxi date, with the addition of aubergine enamels, was sold at Christie's New York, 1 June 1994, lot 284. Another example of a Kangxi vase decorated in this unusual palette from the Salting Collection, now in the Victoria and Albert Museum, is illustrated by Gorer and Blacker, Chinese Porcelain and Hard Stones, Vol. 1, London, 1911, pl. 59.
