TWO SMALL BLUE AND WHITE VESSELS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
One is a vase with compressed pear-shaped body painted with five stylized bats (wufu) between petal-lappet and narrow key-fret borders below a band of upright leaf tips at the base of the tall, slender neck. The other is a square bowl, the sides decorated with different landscape scenes below the gilded, unglazed rim. A four-character gilt hall mark, Shouqingtang zhi, is on the base. Together with a yellow-glazed dish incised with dragons on the exterior, Daoguang seal mark and of the period (1821-1850).
Vase 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) high; bowl 5 in. (12.7 cm.) square; dish 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm) diam.
