A PAIR OF SEMI-OPAQUE YELLOW GLASS OVOID JARS AND COVERS
19TH CENTURY
Each is carved around the sides with a continuous scene of birds perched on rocks or in flowering trees between a band of low rocks at the foot and below a ruyi collar at the mouth. Each cover has a lingzhi-form finial that rises from a flower borne on a leafy, budding branch. The glass is of rich egg yolk-yellow color.
5½ in. (14 in.) high, wood stands
