A PAIR OF GREEN-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS BOWLS
LATE QING DYNASTY
Each has deep angled sides that flare towards the everted rim, and is carved in mirror image through the leaf-green outer layer to the semi-opaque white ground with two long-tailed birds, one perched on a flowering crabapple branch that is crossed by a camellia branch on one side, and the other perched on an hibiscus branch that is crossed by a chrysanthemum stem on the reverse, all between green borders on the underside of the rim and above the foot.
7½ in. (19 cm.) diam., wood stands
