A VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL TWO-COLOR OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
PROBABLY IMPERIAL, PROBABLY PALACE WORKSHOPS, BEIJING, 1740-1800
The tapering bottle is well carved through the transparent green and red overlay to the white glass body, which is suffused with ochre-brown and pale blue splashes, with a striding dragon chasing a flaming pearl. The bottle is raised on a circular foot carved from the transparent green layer.
