A FINELY CARVED WHITE JADE SNUFF BOTTLE
PROBABLY IMPERIAL, PROBABLY TO THE PALACE WORKSHOPS, BEIJING, 1740-1800
The flattened bottle is carved in relief with two chilong clambering up each side, their tails intertwining at the bottom to form the foot rim.
2½ in. (6.3 cm.) high, agate stopper

Provenance

By repute, a gift of the Dowager Empress to a French family, late 19th/early 20th century.
